Facing financial distress as a director is stressful and often urgent. This directory does one narrow thing: it helps you find a UK insolvency practice and contact it directly. Everything below is about process and honesty, not insolvency advice—for that, see the insolvency guide.
We list 135 UK insolvency practices and the 229 office pages we could confirm on their own websites, grouped into 11 regions. You contact the firm yourself, using its own phone number or website. We take no fee from you, we are not paid by directors or firms for a standard listing, and we never see or store your details, because there is currently no form on this site that collects them. A firm may pay for Featured placement, which is always labelled as advertising (see below).
Every record starts from one place: the firm’s own website. We read the firm’s
public pages—its homepage, its service pages, its office and team pages—and
transcribe what it says about itself into practices.json, the single file that
drives every page on this site. Nothing is inferred, estimated or filled in from a directory,
review site or third party. If a firm’s own website does not say it, we do not say it
either. Each practice page shows a "details reviewed" date—the last time we checked the
firm’s site for what is shown here. That date is a statement of when we looked, not a
promise that nothing on the firm’s side has changed since.
An office appears only where the firm’s own site has a page for that specific office, which we link to directly so you can read it yourself. National office-finder tools, "areas we cover" maps, and the homepage do not count as offices, even when a firm’s marketing implies national reach—a page that hands you to a chooser is not evidence of a physical office. A script checks this rule against every record before the site builds, and refuses to build if a listing fails it. That rule is why this directory is smaller than the firms’ own coverage claims: 135 practices and 229 confirmed offices, not a longer list of everywhere a firm says it can help.
We have not checked the Insolvency Service register. We hold no licence numbers for any practitioner listed here, and the site says so on every single page, not just this one. Where we name a practitioner, that name is copied from the firm’s own website and nothing more—we have not confirmed the person exists, holds a current licence, or still works there. Being listed here is not evidence that a firm or person is licensed—please check the register yourself before appointing anyone. If we ever verify a licence number directly with a firm, it will appear on that listing with the date it was checked, and not before; until then, the figure is zero, deliberately, rather than a rounder-looking guess.
There is no enquiry form on this site and no backend collecting anything. Every contact
button and phone number sends you straight to the firm—its own website in a new tab, or
its own phone number by tel: link. We do not see that you clicked, we do not pass
your details anywhere, and we have no commercial relationship with any listed firm that would
give us a reason to steer you toward it or pass your details on. A Featured placement never
routes your enquiry or shares your details; it only affects where a listing appears, clearly
labelled as advertising. If enquiry routing is ever built, it will say plainly what it does with
your details before you submit anything, and it will still tell you the register has not been
checked.
Standard listings are free, for firms and for directors. A firm may pay a monthly fee to be Featured, which means it appears at the top of its region and is clearly labelled ’Featured’. Buying Featured is advertising and never changes what we publish about the register or about licence numbers—those stay tied to what has actually been checked, not to who has paid. We do not sell leads and we take no referral or commission payments from firms; if that ever changes, we will say so explicitly on this page and on every listing.
This directory is published by DirectorAppointments and run by Tomer Reijntjens, who is responsible for what this site publishes and for the honesty rules on this page. There is a named person behind it rather than an anonymous page, so you can see exactly who to hold accountable if something here is wrong—his public profile and the company’s own page (DirectorAppointments on LinkedIn) are the straightforward places to verify that.
No firm is listed any differently for paying, and every practice starts on a standard, equal footing. A Featured placement is clearly labelled as advertising everywhere it appears and does not affect our register checks, our office-qualification rule, or what we say about a firm—those stay tied to what has actually been checked, not to who has paid.
Every listing here was compiled from public information without asking the firm first, so correction and removal are unconditional and free. See List your firm for the address to write to; tell us the firm name and what needs to change, and we action removals without requiring a reason.
Check the practitioner’s licence on the Insolvency Service register, ask which regulatory body authorises them, and get more than one firm’s view before committing—initial conversations are usually free. This directory can point you toward a firm; it cannot tell you which one is right for your company.
